For small businesses with a total employment tax liability of $1,000 or less, the IRS has reduced the number of empolyment tax filings required per year. Instead of filing a Form 941 every quarter, now small business owners are only required to file the Form 944 once a year. For tax year 2006, Forms 944 are due by January 31.
