Can I carry over interest paid on mortgages for tax deductio 2006/10/04 10:28 Karma: 0
Can I carry over from 2005 to 2006 interest paid on mortgages for tax deduction? Also, are there any other deductions that can be carried over besides charitable contributions?

You can't carry over interest paid on mortgages 2006/10/05 07:52 Karma: 0
You can't carry over interest paid on mortgages. If you did not claim all of your mortgage interest in 2005, then you need to file an amended 2005 tax return which includes the mortgage interest. This will get you a 2005 refund based on this additional amount.

If you want to carry over beacuse you were not able to itemize in 2005 due to some reason, you lost deductions.
