You need to add your whole world wide income including what ever you earned from online, hobby, side business, etc to find your total income.
If your total income is above the filing requirements for your filing status, then you need to file a tax return and pay taxes. If the amount is less the filing requirements, but taxes are withheld from your paycheck then YOU SHOULD file a tax return to get all your back.
If you have business expenses, you can write off expenses and need to file Schedule c for business gain/loss along with your 1040.
If you use tax software it will ask questions about "other income" and enter non classified income from online business. If you file 1040, then enter it in line 21.
Hope it helps
